Borneo salak
Borneo is famous for its unique colored fruits, such as jackfruit versus red fruit.Now there is found again a unique salak with red scales. In his place of origin he called romunjan (salacca avinis).
The shape was strange, the top forming the nipple.The fruit sign is long, overlaid more than 50 pieces of medium size.Moreover, it is sweet with the texture of soft meat that resembles the sweetness of salak.Tekstur is not common in Indonesia.But in thailand, this textured bark is more expensive. The weakness may be because the seeds are still quite large.In addition to
red color, this salak can also be distinguished from other barks by
looking at the location of the leaf sitting groups in the midrib.surface under the leaf was not covered with white coating
as salak generally.
Bali salak
May be everyone
has ever heard bali.Beautiful taste, sour with thick flesh make this
bali bark is popular. Although it is famous, but not many people know
that there are 10 cultivars of barked.
among the ten kultifar, the sweetest with no sour taste and the least bit is the salak of sugar.
Just like salak pondoh, salak sugar since childhood has tasted sweet.However, it is this excess that causes a little population.
Salak sugar is very rare and difficult to find seeds because it is often harvested when young so that the seeds obtained are not good for seeds.In Bali has not heard there are farmers who multiply salaknya trees with grafts as did salak pondoh farmers in jogja.
whereas salak bark trees can bear fruit at the age of two years.
Much faster than when multiplied by seeds that take 4-6 years.
They (farmers) do not know how to transplant salak.
The famous bali salak was 98.04% produced from Karang Asem Regency, 78 km east of Denpasar.
Sibetan is a village where the origin of bali bali.Located at an altitude of 350-550 m above sea level, this village can be reached from Denpasar within 2.5 hours through Padang Bai-Amlapura with the cost of Rp.2000 public vehicles from Denpasar is only up to Amlapura
